THE Brief

Every Mercado starts with Becky's story. Her messaging is always clear, always personal, and our job is to find the creative vehicle that brings it into physical space. That means immersing ourselves in her cultural world and translating it with precision.
For the third annual Mercado, Becky was releasing Rebbeca, a documentary about her life and journey. The Mercado became Mercado de Rebbeca. The brief: a space that could house a documentary sneak peek, merch, and an art installation. All of it rooted in the streets that raised her.

THE Concept

Videoteca Gómez. A fictional neighborhood video store owned by Becky's family. One concept that held the entire brief while extending the documentary into something guests could walk through.

THE installations

Mercado De Rebbecat. An entire street shut down. Vendors hand-selected by Becky. Culturally rooted, community-first. The Red Wall The iconic red wall from Tribeca Film Festival, recreated and brought home to Inglewood. Videoteca Gómez Vintage styling, custom signage, branded merch, a photo booth, and a mini screening room. Every detail in service of a single fictional world. Te Quiero Siempre, LA An evolving collage installation built from Becky's childhood, creative process, and career milestones. Custom postcards invited guests to add to it: "I love the city that raised me because..." Gomez Cam Stacked CRT televisions playing live security-style footage of guests. A small detail that made the whole space feel lived-in.

THE FLIP

A daytime street Mercado flipped into a red carpet documentary premiere in under 90 minutes.
